"Everyone Loves Pizza Reviews LaRosa's Pizzeria" By Nathan Grant, '16, leader of Everyone Loves Pizza January 2014
“Everyone Loves Pizza” has just reviewed LaRosa’s Pizzeria, a local company adored by all of Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky. Admired for its toppings and crust, LaRosa’s Pizzeria is a restaurant you must try! It’s unique and delicious. Club members reviewed three of LaRosa’s pizzas: cheese, pepperoni, and a meat pizza with pepperoni, sausage, and ham. Here are the results:
When the pizza arrived, club members were surprised that they couldn’t find the pepperoni on the so-called “pepperoni pizza.” They thought there was a mistake. This is what makes LaRosa’s unique. Chefs at LaRosa’s place the pepperoni under the cheese and sauce. So if you order a pepperoni pizza, don’t freak out and automatically assume it’s cheese! Just take a bite and you’ll see there is pepperoni everywhere.
As compared to Domino’s and Pizza Hut, LaRosa’s Pizzeria does not have many locations. It’s hard to find so if you see one, make sure to stop by. I love that there is a LaRosa’s Pizzeria at Kings Island – a local amusement park. These are two of my favorite places! Whenever I’m at Kings Island, I eat lunch at LaRosa’s. And, you guessed it, I always order my favorite pizza: pepperoni.
When you’re at LaRosa’s, “Everyone Loves Pizza” suggests you order the pepperoni pizza or the sausage and ham pizza. These are the best. The cheese is good but it’s not excellent - so we don’t suggest ordering a plain cheese pizza.
Before reviewing the pizza, club members read “What to Look for in Your Pizza.” They learned that the best pizza has crust that isn’t too soft but not too crunchy (and definitely not burnt) and the creamy, wet, and melting cheese covers the entire pizza. Club members used these guidelines to review LaRosa’s.
I love LaRosa’s Pizzeria so I was a little surprised after calculating the above results. But then again, club members are becoming true pizza connoisseurs. Though these are not bad scores, they are not excellent. Just compare them to Pomodori’s Pizzeria or Domino’s. After all, Cincinnati is known for LaRosa’s – not Domino’s. Nevertheless, LaRosa’s serves great pizza. The toppings and crust are excellent and the sauce is great. The crust isn’t too soft but not too crunchy. It’s just perfect. However, the cheese is not very good. As club member Ben Paff explains, “The cheese was cold. It did not melt in your mouth like the cheese at most restaurants we have reviewed. There wasn’t enough cheese, either.” It was an “average pizza, not great but not bad,” as Jonah Ice would say.
Along with Skyline Chili, LaRosa’s Pizzeria is a Cincinnati classic. As sophomore Maggie Bernish said, “I believe we should start putting Skyline on LaRosa’s for the ultimate Cincinnati experience.” If you are in town, make sure you go to LaRosa’s Pizzeria!
